The Biological Test Center (BTC) was established in 1980 and is located in Southern California to serve the United States, Pacific Rim nations, Canada and Latin America with contract laboratory testing.
The BTC has more than 32,000 square feet of AAALAC-accredited, state-of-the-art facilities in Irvine, California to handle virtually any size or type of in vivo study. The facilities also include HEPA-filtered surgical suites to support model development. In addition, the BTC has extensive laboratories to provide analytical chemistry and microbiology support for toxicology and metabolism studies.
All of the BTC's facilities have been audited and approved by the EPA (GLP), USDA, and FDA (GLP and GMP). The BTC's facilities include:
- 30 holding rooms and 8 quarantine rooms
- Cytotoxicity laboratory
- General microbiology laboratory
- 2 HEPA-filtered surgical suites
- Necropsy suites
- Pharmacokinetics/metabolism wet laboratory
- Liquid scintillation counting laboratory
